Until September 11, we visited Pelkhil School, our partner school in Bhutan, and deepened our exchange by participating in classes and school events together with local students.

On the 12th, we visited Paro Taktsang Monastery (Tiger’s Nest), one of Bhutan’s most iconic tourist destinations. The route to Taktsang Monastery involves hiking along mountain trails. Because it is located at an altitude exceeding 3,200 meters, the journey was by no means easy, but our students enjoyed the hike while encouraging one another, and experienced Bhutan’s majestic natural landscape firsthand.

After arriving, we learned about the history of Taktsang Monastery and Tibetan Buddhism, which is deeply intertwined with the lives of the Bhutanese people. Through exchange at school as well as direct contact with Bhutan’s nature, history, and religion, we were able to deepen our understanding of Bhutan from various perspectives.

With only a little time remaining in our 13-day study abroad program, we hope that our students will continue to cherish the encounters and experiences they have had so far, and will learn and absorb as much as possible until the very end.
