Empowering Students with Japanese as a Second Language

After Graduation — Universities in Japan and abroad

Alongside English skills, students study Japanese culture while advancing their Japanese-language abilities. Students of many nationalities gather here, deepening mutual understanding of each other’s home countries and families.

By deepening international literacy and strengthening English ability, students refine their global perspective. Drawing on the rich resources of our overseas study programs and language-training trips, this course cultivates mutual understanding across cultures and awareness of multicultural coexistence. Students also engage with Japanese culture such as tea ceremony and incense ceremony, actively delivering English-language presentations in class so they can share these traditions with the world in English. After graduation, students aim to enter Japan’s mid-tier universities (foreign languages, international relations, and other fields).

Topics

To build the foundational knowledge needed in international society, we offer a subject called International Liberal Arts. In addition to communication skills training by external instructors and lessons on world affairs, students study Japanese culture such as English tea ceremony, incense ceremony, and furoshiki wrapping — becoming women able to share the strengths of their country with the world.

International Literacy

To equip students with the foundational literacy required in international society, we have established “International Literacy” as a subject in its own right. External guest lecturers cultivate communication skills, and students learn about world affairs together with Japanese cultural practices such as English tea ceremony, incense ceremony, and furoshiki (traditional cloth-wrapping) — aiming to cultivate women who can share the merits of their home country with the world.
