From July 10th (Friday) to 12th (Sunday), an “English Camp” was held at the Iwai Training Dormitory for first-year students in the Global Course over three days.

This training program is centered around activities conducted in English by native teachers, with “domestic study abroad” as its theme. Through living in an English-immersed environment for three days, the aim is to develop practical English language skills while also cultivating a spirit of mutual respect and cooperation through communal living.

On the first day, we conducted a “Scavenger Hunt” in which students worked together using English to complete tasks. Students actively tackled the unfamiliar English language, and we observed them communicating enthusiastically while making use of gestures and vocabulary they knew.

We also engaged in various programs different from regular classes, including English proficiency test preparation lectures and quiz-format activities to deepen multicultural understanding. Rather than simply learning English, by encountering diverse cultures and values, students had a fulfilling day that expanded their international perspectives.

From the second day onward, diverse programs are planned, including English presentations and group work. Through the three-day training program, we anticipate that each student will deepen their confidence in communicating in English, deepen their understanding of different cultures, develop the communication skills necessary to play an active role in international society, and grow significantly.
