On Monday, November 18, we invited Mr. Fumihiko Ohno, full-time professor of Western cuisine at the Hattori Nutrition College, to give a special lesson on “Sauteed Young Chicken, Grand-mere Style” for first-year students of the Food Coordination Course.
Because they were making it grand-mere style, the students worked with all their might while watching the instructor’s demonstration, aiming for the simple, nostalgic flavor a grandmother would make.

They took on cooking with ingredients they had never used before and worked through the practicum while adjusting the heat for the chicken; with advice during the sauce-making as well, they were able to complete their “Sauteed Young Chicken, Grand-mere Style.”

We hope they will make use of this experience in their future practicums and career choices.
