The students are engaging with their fulfilling daily English learning with strong motivation and enthusiasm. Classes consist of small-group lessons supplemented by multiple one-on-one lessons lasting 50 minutes each. For students, it is not easy to engage in continuous direct dialogue with instructors in English over extended periods. However, as days pass, they have become more comfortable with English conversation and have increasingly been able to exchange views on a wide range of topics in English with greater depth and specificity.
On Wednesday, October 28, an international cultural exchange event was held at Rizal Hall located within the De La Salle Araneta University campus. In addition to local students from the Philippines, exchange students from France, South Korea, India, and Vietnam participated. Students were arranged to be in groups with students of various nationalities, and they deepened their exchange through English while discussing each other’s cultures.
At the event, each country presented performances introducing their respective cultures. Our students performed “Soran Bushi,” a traditional Japanese dance, and energized the venue. Additionally, they enjoyed local games together and exchanged snacks brought from their respective countries, demonstrating exchanges that transcended language and cultural differences.
This international cultural exchange provided students with a valuable opportunity to experience the cultures and values of various countries as well as cultivate new friendships. The experience of laughing and conversing together became a time to truly appreciate the importance of connections that transcend borders, and it has been engraved as an unforgettable memory in their hearts.
As the language training program enters its final phase, students are now preparing speeches for the closing ceremony and working toward the completion exam. We hope that they will draw confidence from the English proficiency they have developed through the training and the learning gained from cross-cultural exchange, and that they will spend their remaining time in a fulfilling manner.
