**[Day 4] Learning at the College and Campus Experience**
On day 4, students continued in two groups to experience diverse learning opportunities at the college.
The first group attended classes in “Social Adaptation” and “Chemistry” alongside local students. “Social Adaptation” is a seminar-style class where students think through questions posed by the instructor, voice their opinions, and deepen discussions. Students were able to experience the atmosphere of a class where the distance between instructor and students is close and learning is deepened through dialogue.
In the “Chemistry” class, students studied chemical formulas related to oxidation-reduction reactions and similar topics. Since the content included material covered previously, students felt joy at being able to understand the English-language instruction and approached the class with enthusiasm.
The second group took on a “scavenger hunt” challenge, using a campus map to locate designated spots and photograph them. While consulting with their teammates and exploring the campus, students came to know various facilities and experienced the satisfaction of achieving goals through cooperation.

**[Day 5] University Visit and Experience of American Daily Life**
On day 5, students traveled by bus and visited UC Merced (University of California, Merced) in the morning. Under the guidance of local students, they toured facilities throughout the campus. As they reflected on the vision of a university continuing to develop, this became a valuable opportunity to experience the learning environment and campus atmosphere of an American university.
In the afternoon, students toured the city of Merced and enjoyed shopping at “Target,” a major American supermarket. Groups had lunch together and selected souvenirs for Japan, spending time that brought them closer to the daily lives of local people.
As students have gradually grown accustomed to life here, their expressions have begun to show more ease, but before long the training program had reached its midpoint.

During the weekend, we hope students will cherish their time with their host families and deepen their understanding of different cultures. Looking ahead to the following week, we look forward to seeing students return with renewed energy after enjoying a fulfilling weekend.
