September 1st (Tuesday): The start-of-second-semester opening ceremony for the 2024 school year was held.

In the principal’s address, he spoke as follows: “I am delighted to begin the second semester with energetic students like yourselves. During this longest period of the school year, I hope you will grow significantly as individuals through preparations for the Memorial Festival and other activities. As you work toward crucial dates such as competitions and entrance exams, please reflect on ‘what can I do for myself’ during this fleeting high school life, and continue your daily efforts.”

At the all-school assembly, reports on Club Activities conducted during the summer break were presented, and commendations were given to the calligraphy club, dance club, tennis club, swimming club competitive swimming division, and swimming club water polo division.

The International Exchange Committee chairperson spoke: “In the second semester, exchange students from our sister schools—students from Lapietra School in Hawaii and students from Uzbekistan—will be coming to visit. Let us accept each other’s cultures and values and deepen our exchange actively.”

The head of the Student Guidance Department spoke to us, saying that while it may be challenging to readjust to school life now that summer break has ended, please work hard to make a clear distinction between on and off time, establish a proper learning mindset, and face your classes with focus.

Additionally, our school conducted a disaster preparedness drill with the aim of raising disaster awareness and developing appropriate responses in the event of a disaster.

At the signal to begin the drill, students in each classroom took shelter under their desks in a “ShakeOut” action to ensure their safety. Afterward, evacuation drills to the ground were conducted, where students calmly practiced evacuation while confirming evacuation routes.

Through this drill, students had the opportunity to reaffirm what actions they should take to protect themselves in the event of a disaster.

The second semester will bring many school events and is a period when class bonds deepen. Let us work together as a class, as a grade, and as one school community in our school life.
