August 10 (Monday)

On August 10 (Monday), we spent the entire day visiting Bryce Canyon National Park.
We traveled by bus for approximately two hours each way, and upon arrival, we had lunch on a bench surrounded by magnificent natural scenery. Afterwards, we went hiking and learned about Bryce Canyon while listening to explanations about the park’s characteristics and nature. Faced with breathtaking views beyond our imagination, the students expressed their amazement and emotion. Standing before the vast natural landscape—a scale rarely experienced in Japan—each student spoke freely about their impressions.

After the hike, we enjoyed shopping at a nearby shop. Bryce Canyon offered many unique souvenirs, and the students shopped with joy and spent time leisurely. Additionally, we gradually deepened our exchange with students from , and we increasingly saw them enjoying conversations together. It became a day to fully appreciate nature while also deepening our friendships and exchanges.

August 11 (Tuesday)

On August 11 (Tuesday), following the previous week, we took an ESL class at Utah State University of Technology.
In class, we first explained characteristics of each season in English, and then presented our favorite seasons and weather types along with our reasons. Through ESL classes, we are not simply speaking English but also practicing how to convey our thoughts and reasons—such as “why we think that way”—in English. We also learned about intonation and engaged in paired activities where we expressed our emotions in English. Beyond merely learning English, we are gradually developing the ability to communicate with others using English.

In the afternoon, we went shopping. We visited Japanese restaurants and enjoyed shopping at various places, creating a refreshing and joyful time that relieved the fatigue from the ESL class.
