August 9 (Saturday) and August 10 (Sunday)

Over the weekend, students spent the entire day with their respective host families. They visited churches, experienced horseback riding, and participated in home parties at the homes of their host families’ friends, allowing them to enjoy valuable time unique to each household.

At the start of the week, we could see students happily sharing memories from the weekend with one another, and it was clear that everyone had spent fulfilling time. Additionally, the distance between students and their host families gradually narrowed, and we began to see them actively attempting to communicate in English.

Through homestays, students are encountering cultures, lifestyles, and values different from those in Japan, and experiencing much learning that cannot be gained in the classroom. We anticipate that the remainder of their stay will be fruitful as they cherish each encounter and experience in the local community.
