On this day, we held the first day of the university visit program.

In the morning, we visited International Medical University (IMU), Malaysia’s first private medical university established in 1992. The students showed expressions of amazement at the spacious and well-maintained campus.

The campus was equipped with numerous practical training facilities that recreated actual hospital rooms and treatment rooms, and the students conducted an engaging tour of the learning environment designed with real medical settings in mind. Since actual patients were also using the facilities, we refrained from taking photographs inside, but it became a valuable opportunity to experience a cutting-edge educational environment. In the afternoon, we visited the University of Tsukuba Malaysia Campus. The students received a school explanation in Japanese by Japanese faculty members and listened attentively while also asking questions actively.

We also received an explanation about Malaysia’s unique admission selection methods, which differ from Japan. Rather than focusing solely on test scores, the selection method emphasizes a process in which students consider social issues—such as “how to clean Malaysia’s water”—think independently, and reach conclusions while sharing and discussing opinions in groups. This content was remarkably fresh and made a strong impression on the students.

Through this university visit, the students gained knowledge of a new career option in the form of studying at overseas universities and deepened their understanding of the independence and collaborative capabilities required in a global society. This day significantly expanded each student’s perspective as they prepare for their career decisions two years from now.
