From July 10 (Friday) to July 12 (Sunday), over three days, we held an “English Camp” at the Iwai Training Dormitory for first-year students in the Global Course.

On the final day of English Camp, we had breakfast at “Kurayashiki,” where we are always well taken care of. At the end of the meal, a student representative expressed words of gratitude, conveying appreciation to everyone who had looked after us over the three days. In the morning, we visited the seaside and spent enjoyable time in nature with our classmates. Moving our bodies freely in the open landscape, we deepened our exchange with fellow Global Course students and refreshed both body and mind while touching the rich natural surroundings. After the training concluded, we stopped by Umihotaru on the way home. The students spent the entire time with smiles on their faces, selecting souvenirs for family and friends and enjoying desserts in a fulfilling atmosphere.

Through the three-day English Camp, students came to realize the importance not just of “learning” English but of “using” it, gaining valuable experience in acquiring practical English ability. Furthermore, by deepening their understanding of different cultures and through communal living, students developed a spirit of mutual consideration and cooperation, making these three days a period of significant growth in their character as well.
We hope that students will utilize this experience not only in their school life going forward, but in various settings such as study abroad programs and language training, and that they will continue to grow even further.
